Daniel E. Washburn is my Dad

Happy Fathers Day dad. I hope you have a good one. I sure have so far. I have taken some time to reflect on the type of Father you have been to me. Here are some things I came up with.
1. You made time for me. You would work extra shifts to be able to have time off to go to my sporting events in Middle and High School.
2. You taught me to respect people. I always remember you being kind and thoughtful to the people you were around.
3. You showed me how to be honest. One year on the 4th of July we made our big firecracker purchase and the lady gave you too much change. You corrected her and returned the money.
4. You showed me how to work hard. You spent countless hours working with us on the farm and in the grapes. You were always an example of a commited employee in your job at work.
5. You taught me how to provide for a family even when things were tough. It means putting your shoulder a little lower a pressing forward. You never gave up.
6. Most recently you taught me how I need to love my children as you have lost one of your own. I saw you quietly running to appointment after appointment without hesitation. You did everthing within your power to lighten your families burden. You have always done everthing in your power to make sure your family in taken care of. I love you Dad and I have always been blessed to call you my Dad.
