My 2 Girls

This is Sophia with our sweet dog Abby. I bought Abby when I was feeling baby hungry while we were in the adoption process. I remember the night the little boys and I brought her home. I was set on a girl, and was looking for a Maultese/Poodle but ended up w/ a little Chihuahua in the mix.

Kimball was against the idea of getting a dog, but since he was out numbered he lost the battle. So the boys and I went alone out in the dark rainy night. I was prepared to say no if I didn't like what I saw, and honestly I never wanted a Chihuahua. In fact, I don't like Chihuahua's and Jaxon had always begged for one. Once I saw her and knew she was the runt and the only girl, and then saw Jaxon's face, I couldn't say no. I was clueless what to do, we went to Petco and bought way more than what was needed. I drove the employee crazy asking every question imaginable. For the next week, we held her and loved on her like a new baby. I felt like a new mom all over again. Abby was just what I needed while on our adoption journey, she was so sweet and gentle. After that, I just knew I wanted a girl.

Kade (the ultimate snuggler) held her as much as possible and needless to say Kimball melted like butter when he saw her. He's such a softy like that! Jaxon is in charge of feeding her and together the boys bathe her.

You couldn't ask for a more kid friendly dog. She is so sweet and loving with Sophia and probably puts up with more than she should have to. They are joint at the hip. I swear having females brings a different spirit in the house. I love my 2 girls!

loosin' it

Saturday we took the kids on a field trip. We boarded the new Tram in Mesa and rode it to downtown Phoenix, where we stopped at The Old Spaghetti Factory for lunch followed by another stop at a Tram Station where Kimball had done a bunch of neat masonry work. Kade has been learning about different forms of transportation so this was great fun for him.

It was super crowded on the way back. Poor Kimball had to stand and hold Sophia for about 30 minutes before getting a seat. We were packed in like sardines. I had to stand for the full 45 minutes but I was smart for once and wore my walking shoes. This was the weekend for the PF Chang's Rock n' Roll marathon and the Cardinals playoff game (which I'll discuss more later), and a huge expo. Needless to say, it was the wrong weekend to take the Tram downtown. We still had a great day.

Kimball was excited to show us his this neat masonry job he did. He worked for several months with some artists out of California (they should have hired Arizona artists but WHATEVER) and the project turned out really nice. It runs up and down a long stretch on Central Ave. It' cooler in person, with some neat glass pieces and metal cutouts as well.

This was an inexpensive field trip and the kids loved it. The tram is only $2.50 for an all day pass and some guy gave us 3 free, of course when we were done with ours we paid it forward too.

Sophia in her first curlers. Kade thinks she looks like a little old lady.

Now for a man who doesn't just talk the talk but who walk's the walk...Kurt Warner. How awesome is it that the Cardinals have made it to the Super Bowl??? Pretty awesome especially because Kurt Warner is such a deserving man. Click HERE to view some of the charitable things he's up to, he is a family man and a true Christian. Love this guy, he rocked at the 2000 Super Bowl and he's going to do it again!

Now if I play my cards right, I may get a signed jersey from this guy. Larry Fitzgerald did amazing yesterday. Kimball is currently doing a big masonry project at his new home here in Arizona. He hasn't been to the job site yet but maybe after the big day's over, he'll come around...hopefully!

Summer Photos - not to be forgotten

Oops! I did it again, I changed my blog without saving it first. I want to have it made into a scrapbook so I'm adding these pics so they won't be forgotten. When people ask me how I have time to blog, well it goes like this...I'd much rather blog then keep a journal, sleep in, watch t.v. or make a time consuming scrapbook. What's the difference?

Sophia loves Abby so much, lately she's been chasing her with her big lips trying to plant a kiss on her. Since she can't talk, she constantly slaps her leg for Abby to come to her.

The kids all took swim and loved every minute of it, this is how we spent most of our summer nights.

Smootching on Grandma Kay the night before she went back to Texas.

Friday night = movie/stay up late night, the boys look forward to it all week.
