Our First Day Of Homeschool

About 15 minutes before we were to begin our first day, my cute neighbor came to the door and asked for a ride to the airport (in 12 min.) Of course I said yes but I thought to myself...and so it begins. Schooling at home will always have it's hurdles. I will have to do my best to keep us on track while being flexible enough to allow for "life" to happen. I will have to let the phone ring and just return calls when we are finished. As far as the ride to the airport, her brother showed up at the last minute so she didn't need one after all.

We had a great first day, the boys were excited especially Jaxon. He was so nice and pleasant I can't even tell you. Kade talked and talked and talked, I feel bad for his past teachers. Just kidding, he is so fun and cute but he just makes a lot of noise and like any 6 year old he moves around a lot. Sophia was in to everything she could get her hands on. I will have to get her some fun, educational toys I'll pull out only during school hours. My plan is to have school during her big nap to help us get through with less interruptions. It worked out pretty well, I don't think the schedule will need much adjusting. It was a great day!
Subjects Kade covered today = Piano, New Testament, Math, Spelling, Memorization, Writing, Swim and Reading.
Subjects Jaxon covered today = Piano, New Testament, Math, Spelling, Grammar, Copy work, Latin, Swim & Reading.

We will add on Art & Music Theory, Literature, History & Science at the beginning of September. For now, this is a good schedule to get us in the swing of things.

Kade's Crazy Talk for the day: "I am not learning Pig Latin!"
