Why homeschool?

I was asked this question again just yesterday but since there were several people around I felt shy and didn't give a very accurate answer. Kate, here are my main reason's for wanting to home school my kiddos.

#1 I don't like sending them away for 7-8 hours per day. I miss them dearly and feel like during the school year, there is no time to enjoy them.

#2 Homeschooling allows more free time for family and extra curricular activities.

#3 I think public schools give way too much home work and don't even get me started on all those fund raisers!

#4 Homeschool provides an individualized education where they can excel or linger when needed.

#5 My kids love learning and I think they will thrive in a homeschool atmosphere.

#6 I want Kimball and I to be the biggest influences on them during their most impressionable years, helping them build strong testimonies and have high self esteems.

#7 I love the idea of being on our own schedule and not that of the districts.

Having said all that, I realize there are a lot of awesome teachers who love the kids and go to great lengths to help them grow and learn. I just feel that this is the best choice for our family. We haven't started yet so we'll see how it goes. :)
