...these are just some of the reasons I'm crazy about Sophia. Who would have ever thought having a girl would be so fun? I'll be honest, when I had two boys and no girls and I found out I wouldn't be able to have anymore, I thought maybe being the queen of the house wouldn't be so bad. Looking back I know I was just trying to make myself feel better. I love my boys but there's something about having a sweet little girl in the house that is SO great. I wish I could just bottle her up and make time stand still.
Speaking of girl crazy, I'm not the only one. Jaxon got a love letter from a few girls at his enrichment class last Monday. Apparently they and I quote, "can't quit starring at his deep dark eyes." He and I went on our walk tonight and he told me he has a girlfriend, she's one of the girls who sent him the letter. At dinner tonight he pulled out a comb and started combing his hair so he'd "look good for the chicks". Are you kidding me? He's only 10! I know, I know, I was totally boy crazy at that age, but it's gone too fast. I am just glad he'll only see his "girlfriend" on Mondays. I think I'll just keep him home FOREVER! Tonight I told him he couldn't date until he was 21 and he didn't argue so I'm sticking with it for as long as I can. I know that worrying about being popular and liked is just part of the 'coming of age' but I hope by homeschooling, we'll eliminate some of that. I hope he'll gain a solid foundation where he'll know his self worth and potential without measuring it by who's wearing braces or who's sitting by the cool kids at lunch.
Today is Kimball's birthday, he's 33. I am so lucky to have a husband who takes care of us. He works 5-6 days a week with very little vacation to make sure we have a comfortable life. We are going to the Cardinals/Vikings game this week to celebrate...can't wait!
