We had a fun filled Easter weekend with my sister in law Keri here and my nieces Rachel and Sam. The kids were SO happy to see them, they love it when we have visitors. Sophia took an instant liking to Keri and for the 4 days they were here, she just snuggled and kissed her, she was so cute.
Sophia's new BFF...Keri (or care care as Sophia would say).
Samantha got a little crazy and wanted to dye her hair w/ the easter egg dye.

Kimball took the boys to the sand dunes during 2 of those days, bringing back with him a nasty stomach virus. He got it on Easter and then by Tuesday, I had it too. It was miserable, I can't remember ever feeling that miserable. Bloating, cramping, nausea, chills, fever, back pain etc. YUCK! I am still bloated and crampy today but better in all other areas. Thank goodness, I couldn't take it any longer. I just kept thinking about how it must have been to get sick like that if I'd have been a pioneer or prisoner of war or a Jew in a concentration camp. I don't know how they did it. I remembered reading how Anne Frank and her sister were so sick, in the camp, walking around naked with a thin blanket is all. It was snowing and cold and no one cared, what monsters! Who could treat other humans like that?!?
On a more positive note...Jaxon and Kimball just hosted their first book club. Jaxon has wanted to have a book club since he was about 6 years old, or as soon as he saw me join one. He is so dang cute! The cutest part about the whole thing is he invited men from our ward too. Men like Brother Cooley, Brother Winsor, our home teacher Brother Carmichael and also our neighbor Brian (who he loves to discuss books with). They had a great time deciding on the books to be read this year and then ending it with brownies and ice cream and of course, a Nerf gun battle. Some of the dad's are going to participate too, so it should be a great mentoring experience for the boys.
This morning we ate brunch at the Lindblom's home with several other families from the ward. Our church didn't start until later for some reason so they thought it would be fun to have brunch...and it was.
Another fun thing we did yesterday, we went to a Gymnasium for Taylor Bevell's birthday party. We all had a lot of fun swinging from ropes and dropping into the pits, jumping on the trampoline's and other fun stuff.
Friday, we met the Bevell's at the county fair. It was a ton of fun, we rode rides, ate food, looked at the animals and Sophia was able to meet her favorite character Sponge Bob Square Pants. It was so hilarious. She was afraid or something so she screamed and cried the whole time we tried to get her picture with him, then when she was leaving she would cry out over and over "bye bye bun bob". Everyone was laughing at how cute and funny she was being.

Today we returned from Dr. Gambino's (Kade's ENT). We have been so worried that Kade would have to have his third procedure for his ear tubes. We have been praying and hoping that his last tube would come out easily without having to pay our 5K insurance deductible, and that his ear drum would heal. Well, the tube was still plugged and hadn't come out on it's own. Normally the doctor would remove it in the hospital and then patch it or put another tube in if necessary. He was kind enough to just do it in office and Kade was BRAVE enough to allow him to. It took some convincing him, but he did it and it hurt a lot but it was over quickly. I am SO relieved that the outcome was good. His ear drum is perfectly healed, there was minimal bleeding and he doesn't need to be seen again unless there is a problem. This will be Kade's first summer in 5 years that he can just swim without plugs and a big ol' strap! He is SO excited about it. He was SO happy and said his ear feels much better already with that tube out. Yay!! As a mom, we worry so much. I feel so incredibly relieved. On another happy note, we finally got our taxes done today and for once in a LONG time, we get $$ back. We were able to use Sophia's adoption credit this year, so that's a good thing. Only problem is we forgot to get her a social security number. OOPS. So until then, no refund. Let's hope it's a pretty quick process.
I guess that's all the updates I have for now, guess I'll end it here.
