Growing Pains

"The affection and thoughtfulness required in the home are no abstract exercises in love, no mere rhetoric concerning some distant human cause. Family life is an encounter with raw selfishness, with the need for civility, of taking turns, of being hurt, and yet forgiving, and of being at the mercy of others' moods."
(Neal A. Maxwell)

Between Jaxon acting like a 9 year old going on 15 and Sophia cutting all her molars and K-9's at once, I found this quote at just the right time!

  1. I needed to hear that today too. We are also having teething issues and the usual daily tantrums with Sydney. Ahhhhhh, motherhood! It's sometimes a challenge to keep it all in proper perspective. Thanks for sharing!

  2. My mom forwarded your blog to me and I love it! It's good to get updates from everyone. Your kids are so big! How old is Sophie? I think her and my Ivy are the same age. Best wishes with the little ones!

  3. Jessica,
I am happy I can leave a comment now. It was so fun hearing from you. I have a long list of people I need to add to my blogging friend list. You being one of course. It is so funny because we lived in Arizona for 4 years while Brett was in medical school. That is too bad we didn't know that we were so close. ANyways, I am so happy we have reconnected. You have a cute family. Love, Kami

  4. Thanks for dinner on Sunday it was fun. That's a fabulous quote, especially since I've been counting down to bedtime since they got up this morning. I'll call you when we get home from California so we can go on a double date.
