Bear Lake Canyon - Ward Camp Out

Don't worry Dad I got the trench covered. It was raining when we arrived and for those of you who know just how much Kimball doesn't like to get wet (about as much as a cat) this was a problem. He had never heard of digging a trench to keep the water out of your tent so I had to take matters into my own hands.

Kimball thinks he's a rebel for bringing Dr. Pepper.

With some friends, Lauren, Rachelle and Alice. Lauren made fun of me for sporting the ski parka but hey, I'm used to 110 degree weather!

I was starting to wonder if Kimball really was an Eagle Scout... until he tied an impressive knot to secure our tarp. I'm kidding he did great once the rain stopped:)

Can you spot Kade in this picture? He wore camouflage (from head to toe the entire time so the bears won't see him.)

Brown Eyed Boy

Piro Man at it again.

It was SO relaxing and peaceful up there. Which brings me to the question "where in the world is Sophia?"
She stayed home with the sitter (our neighbor). We missed her but it was a nice 24 hour break for me and it was a really rugged campground so I think she would have had a really hard time.
Hiking down to Bear Canyon Lake

Jaxon caught a Crawdad. The lake was beautiful and so relaxing, if only we had a fishing pole and more time. Jaxon and Kade decided they like the mountains more then the beach! I think we'll go again in a few weeks.
Looks like a fun time. I'm not much of a camper or I'd suggest we go camping together, Palmer would love it! Maybe I should suck it up and we should go anyway. I finally put beach pics up for you.
ReplyDeleteWe love camping up there! Woods canyon lake is a little less rugged(for sophia) and just as beautiful. Looks like a fun time!
ReplyDeleteI really liked how rested little Scotty P. looks in the close up. So did Jaxon let the crawfish go? If you were a fun Mom you would have let him take it home as a new school pet. HAHA
ReplyDeleteI see the SLIGHT resemblence between Kade and Scott Peterson but you don't need to keep pointing it out! :)
ReplyDeleteFYI - I told Jaxon to take it home and eat it as long as he put it in the cooler. For some reason he felt bad...after it had been dead and out of the water for a few hours.
Hey, has Gavin fallen down the stairs again recently? you may consider getting a gate. Muahahaha!
It looks like your camping trip was so nice and pretty. We haven't been on a camping trip for a while. I am for sure ready for one. I know this is a random thing, but is your husband the missionary you were waiting for or is he the one you met up at USU? Looking at him makes me think about the guy you met that worked at the UPS( I think that is where it is at) Anyways, sorry about the blast from the past. Kami
ReplyDeleteIn response to Kami, yip, Kimball is the missionary I met right before his mission and just before I left for USU. What about your hubby? Was he one of the guys you were liking while we were at USU?
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys had a fun trip! I would love to take our boys camping, but it's way too hot here right now! Maybe in a month or two!
ReplyDeleteLooks like your family had a great time! I love camping. We are going this weekend. I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I wish we lived closer to the mountains like you do. It cost us a ton in gas because it's about 3 hrs. each way. :(
