Do you have an all time favorite scary movie? I'm not one for horror films but with Halloween falling on our movie night, we're trying to decide what scary movies to rent. I can think of a few good Alfred Hitchcock movies that would be good but I don't remember how appropriate they would be. I'd love some help here, the boys are SO excited!
Jason and I have started a new tradition for the month of October....a scary movie every weekend. I am not sure any would be kid appropriate but I don't know how scared your kids get. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHave they ever seen the Wizard of Oz? My kids watched it for the first time last week and loved it!
ReplyDeleteWe just watched Watcher in the Woods, it is a Disney. The kids were a little scared. I remembered it being really scary when we were young. Your kids might like it.
ReplyDeleteThe Goonies. I don't think its really a halloween movie but its got all the elements and little boys/big boys love it.
ReplyDeleteThis is cousin Liz by the way. (Lonnie and Julie's daughter)
ReplyDeleteI agree...definately Watcher in The Woods. I remember it being really scary. The other one I remember is Silver Bullet.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your input, keep them coming. I like the idea of Watcher in the Woods. As a kid, I remember it scared the pants off me. They've seen Goonies recently and The Wizard of Oz. I've never heard of Silver Bullet. My neighbor suggested When A Stranger Calls, but if it may be to scary.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jessica for popping in and leaving a comment on Eliot's story. Loved looking at your blog. My hubs and I are also huge Dave Ramsey fans!! Can't believe you got to see the actual Neil in concert.. I have fun memories of listening to him as a child... driving out to Colorado to ski and listening to him the entire trip there and home. We could all sing "Cracklin Rosie" or "Song Song Blue..." love it!
ReplyDeleteOk what ever I can't believe you didn't come to me first. You know I was raised on Hitchcock films. They were part of our "educational movies" section at home.
ReplyDelete"Birds", "Dial M for Murder" (tiny amount if any blood), "Rear Window" (really good! no blood) And they have "Grace Kelly" in it. "Vertigo", "Rope!" really really good (no blood) "Strangers on a Train".
"Arsenic and Old Lace" Not a Hitchcock but really good and funny. My favorite when I was little was "The Ghost of Mr. Chicken" Its scary but really funny. It has Don Knotts in it. The scariest was the original "House on Haunted Hill" and "House of Wax" Those have Vincent Price in them. But ultimate Scary black and white movie of all time "The Haunting". I watched this with Jake one time, at one point he jumped off a bean bag and on the couch with me while he was screaming. That was the best.
Have a great and Super Scary Halloween/Birthday.
I like a children's Vampire movie called the "The Little Vampire" with flying cows even, it was made in 2000, Zack and Caleb loved it we watched it last year. Here is a link to find out about it. http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1763219456/tt0192255adn
