Tonight was the boys gold belt advancement. They tested the other night and after a lot of trial and error they got it. Kade was pretty pooped, it took about 2 1/2 hours to pass. Eventually we'll get with the program so we're aware of what they'll be tested on ahead of time. I missed the last one but I don't think that will ever happen again. It is SO fun to see these cuties yell, fight and roll around on the mat. Jaxon is begging us to let him do the elite Storm Team but we are going to make him hold off. It's a huge commitment (financially and time wise) and although it's a great way for them to learn leadership skills and community involvement, it's a bigger commitment then we need right now. I am just so happy they love it so much. Getting good pictures was an impossible task, my camera's seriously on it's last leg (hint hint K - man) so please be patient. I've been a very good girl this year so I'm pretty confident Big Santa will get me a good one for Christmas.
Here's Kade coming up from the old 'duck & roll'

Kade accidentally hit this boy in the face when demonstrating a defense move...oops!

Yay! I was so worried Jaxon would advance without Kade, there's just so much they have to learn. I'm sure it will happen eventually but not only will it be sad for Kade but then they'll have different practice times too...ugh! The good thing is, it's only 5 minutes from our house.

Jaxon escaping a two arm grip.

Just taking care of bidness!

Whoo Hoo! Jaxon's taking this all so seriously, he has never been much of a sports fan besides swimming so we're all loving this!!

A big thanks to Jaron Carmichael for supporting the boys by coming tonight. He is our home teacher (from church) and is so great with them. Jaxon emails him on a regular basis. It takes a village right?
One super tired Mama. My kids are always taking extremely close up pictures of me at the computer, please forgive the crows feet and sun spots.

We're anxious for our Thanksgiving guests who will be arriving tomorrow night & Tuesday night. Two of my brothers are coming, it should be fun. I've been busy cooking, cleaning, decorating and meal planning. No homeschooling today but we'll make up for it tomorrow...that's right Saturday!
Side note: I'm actually sick just remembering it but tonight I was in a rush to grab dinner before running out the door and I accidentally ate a hot dog. I thought it was a Jennie O turkey one (Kimball had grilled them) and it WASN'T!! Can you say dry heave? I'm not being dramatic, I haven't eaten something like this for I don't know 15 years!?! I think I'll just go back to the no animals of any sort diet...much safer. BTW - If I knew how to make myself vomit I would have. I guess it serves me right for going cheap and buying the 69 cent ones.
