Pears And Carmel Sauce - Christmas Gifts

OK I'll admit we aren't getting a lot of formal schooling done this week but hey, the kids are finding their way around the kitchen and we are having a lot of fun together. I guess we'll call this home economics week.

Here's another quick but delicious treat for your friends and neighbors. It's perfect for the holidays because it only has four ingredients and heavens knows we don't have a lot of spare time.

1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar, 3/4 cup light corn syrup, 2/3 cup heavy cream and 1/4 cup butter.

Mix all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to boil over medium heat. Boil 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly. Cool. Makes about 1 1/2 pints.

Pour into small mason jars, use some festive scraps of fabric and ribbon to 'pretty them up'.

Place in a cute basket or gift bag along with some fancy pears and or apples and your done. Super easy and SO delicious. Enjoy!
