Candy, candy, must. find candy & Soup

Last week we went to our church trunk or treat party. The kids had a great time on their quest for a sugar high. Sophia got it down pretty quick. I have to say we've created a monster!
She has been such a stinker ever since, throwing fits for candy anytime she sees it.

She returned to the same people as many as 3 times, just quietly grabbing more. She had a tight grip on her candy bucket.

"Mom, it's getting a little toasty in this pumpkin costume!" I bought a Dora the Explorer costume for Halloween night but Sophia didn't feel well and went to bed too early.

This is Lilly. I'm giving her the award for cutest costume. Isn't she adorable? Love it!

I made this Yoda costume a few years back. I'm all about recycling old costumes. Sophia's' pumpkin costume was worn by Jaxon 8 years ago. As for the Darth Vader costume...Jaxon wore it last year too. Next year he'll be able to get a new one, that's my rule and I'm sticking to it!

On the menu: Chicken potato soup and warm rolls on a hot fall night, mmm.

Having kids makes every holiday so much more enjoyable, more work...but lots of fun!

Chicken Potato Soup

Boil the chicken, cut into peices, add to peeled and diced potatoes in 2 cans chicken broth and 1 can cream of chicken soup. A little milk, 1/4 cup butter, cut up veggies like, carrots, corn, celery, peas, and onions or you can use onion powder. I add garlic salt and a little parsley and pepper. I just bring it to a boil and then turn it down to simmer for a while. There's no rhyme or reason, just whatever tastes good. Make sure to stir often.
